Lets Go Ride Bikes!

Gotta say one of the best purchases I have ever made was my bike. Got it around Christmas 2009. It is a simple beach cruiser, red semi-gloss steel frame, whitewall tires, removable surfboard rack. When the guy delivered it he called it a tank. It is, and I love it. I have found all sorts of cool stuff around my neighborhood that I never saw in the two months I’d been living here before getting the bike. Just today I found a small golf course not even a mile from my apartment. Now luckily where I live is very bike friendly. All the major roads have bike lanes. There are bike racks out front of every store. The cars are generally very polite to the bike riders. Everyone here has a bike. The garage for my building has several bike racks, all full. I have a long skinny balcony that I park my bike on. It is too skinny to put chairs or a BBQ on, but it is perfect for storing my bike. In addition to all this great stuff, since I started riding my bike my blood pressure has gone down from pre-hypertension levels (130 to 140 on the high number) to normal (120 on the high number) It isn’t a major workout. I don’t find myself huffing and puffing much, but when I get back from a nice long ride, my heart rate is up, there's a little sheen of sweat on my skin and my legs are burning. It is the most casual, relaxing workout I have ever had. So if anyone wants to come over and ride bikes like we used to when we were kids, I’m all about it.
